About System Master Parameters (SMPs)

System Master Parameters (SMPs) are constants used to set system options and size the system. They generally represent maximum numbers in the system, such as maximum number of RTUs, maximum number of analog points, etc.

Key Characteristics:

  • Value reflects ultimate system size, including spares
  • Determined early in the project cycle
  • Not intended to change as software and database are rebuilt
  • Referenced throughout the SDRM for maximum records and range checks
